Rot Restoration

All structures whether they be built from steel, concrete, or wood will degrade over time due to the  forces of Mother Nature such as wind, water, snow, etc. The common elements of a house such as windows, doors, siding, and trim are all susceptible to rot or decay when exposed to wind and water. What do you do? Do you replace all the windows, doors and other building components when they show signs of decay or age? The answer is sometimes yes but many times no.

If a window or door frame for example has started to decay or rot, many times York’s can perform what we refer to as “cosmetic surgery”. Like true plastic surgeons we can remove the bad areas of a house and give it a face lift or tummy tuck! Building components that have begun to decay or rot can many times be restored by our experts. Restoration is sometimes the more cost effective solution as compared to a full replacement for components such as doors and windows.

Believe it or not a simple power washing and a fresh coat of paint on items such as porch railings, stoops, doors, windows and their related framing can make your home shine and look fresh once again.

York’s can help clients with building component restoration that is necessary due to water, insect, wind  rodent, and yes bird damage. If you go around your house at least twice a year and perform a good visual inspection you are likely to find building components in need of some tender loving care. If you do not have the knowledge, tools or desire to tackle building component restoration, then give York’s a call today and we will be happy to come out to take a look at your prospective project.
